We have chosen to apply a modified Montessori curriculum that includes Reggio Emilia and other non-Montessori methods to learning because we are a Montessori-inspired early learning centre and while our basics are rooted in Montessori, we are not a pure Montessori school. We follow "best practices," understanding that effective instruction is effective instruction no matter where it comes from. Because of this, both our curriculum and we as educators are always changing. We understand that since the brain is still developing, now is also a good moment to impart intellectual ideas like humour and how to have fun in life. Our research shows that Montessori doesn't always support that particular independence. The child of today is not the same as the child for whom Maria Montessori created her philosophy a century ago. Our children are among the best equipped for prep which is all due thanks to our adaptability in educational strategies and our emphasis on learning through play and exploration.
They achieve a love of learning in this way!
